Managing curly hair any time of the year can be challenging, but the humidity of the summer months can make managing curly hair unbearable. Getting our curls to behave every time we style them, isn’t always realistic – even when we use the right products! Below I’ve put together five simple everyday styles for curly haired girls. These styles are perfect for summertime events and cookouts! In the post below, I provide you with tips so you can easily master these styles. The styles below are perfect for summer days. Adding variety to my hairstyles helps me to tame my frizz and extend the time between washes.
Messy Top Knot or Pineapple Updo
I love top knots, especially with curly hair! Pull your hair up into a messy or braided bun for a quick look. You can either pull back all of your hair or leave some pieces down.
To refresh your curls, you can curl them with a curling iron or reshape them with damp finger waves while you’re getting ready.
I also find myself adding scarves to my top knot – which adds a pop of color to your look.
Side Braid or French Braid Low Ponytail
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love braids! Adding a simple side braid is an easy way to pull together your look and extend your wash day.
Side Ponytail
A side ponytail is a great way to show off your curls without having the added bulk in the back of your head. Quickly add additional definition to your curls by adding additional product to your hair while styling.
Romantic Low Ponytail
Are you looking for a hairstyle that is versatile – this is it! Low buns can help a look be casual or can be dressed up. The style can be worn in the back of your head or pulled to the side. If you’re going to an event, you can neatly pin in your curls into a low bun, or for every day look you can pull your hair into a low messy bun! Either way, I love the look!
Half Up Bun
This style is great for both short and long hair! I find that I still have decent, frizz-free, waves on day two. Putting your hair into a half-up hairdo gets your hair out of your face.
High Ponytail
A high to mid-range ponytail is perfect for a curly or wavy hairstyle. This style pulls your hair off your neck on hot summer days, all while showing off the volume of your curls! Your curls will look great in a simple pulled back ponytail, but for a more polished ponytail, wrap a piece of hair around the ponytail and pin it with a bobby pin.
