Designing a bathroom that is right for your style and space can be challenging. You spend time researching, looking for the perfect inspiration photos to help inspire you for your soon to be, newly renovated space. So today, I’m going to be sharing with you the wall designs that inspired me when I was redecorating our small, full bathroom. I hope this helps to provide you with some inspiration and help to reduce the amount of time it takes you to research your bathroom renovation project. And even though I used these photos to help spark my creativity for my bathroom wall, they can be used for any room in your home.
How to Find Inspiration for Your Accent Wall
I follow a lot of home improvement bloggers on Instagram, so while I gleam some inspiration from there, my research usually starts on Pinterest. This platform is hands down my favorite social media platform when it comes to putting together a vision.
While researching, I found that there # different kinds of accent walls:
- Hand painted accent wall (stamped or brush strokes)
- Paint the accent wall a different color
- Wallpaper or Removable Wallpaper
- Paint the Room a Deep or Bright Color
- Add Wood Panels or Shiplap
- Tiled Wall
Painted Accent Wall with a Stamp or Brush Strokes
When we re-did our bathroom, we ended up painting brush strokes on our accent wall and I loved how it turned out.
Here is where I got the inspiration after I decided not to wallpaper the wall.

Paint an Accent Wall

Wallpaper or Removable Wallpaper
If you’re not up to painting or stenciling a wall, wallpaper or removable wallpaper is a great alternative. Plus, there are endless design options available now.
Below are some of my favorites that I found on Etsy:
- Blue Wall Stripes
- Blue Watercolor Spots
- Eucalyptus Wallpaper
- Gray Watercolor Leaves and Yellow Dots (Similar to the image below)
- Blue Watercolor Winter Leaves
- Colorful Floral Wallpaper
- Blue Vintage Floral
Also, can you believe the image below is actually hand-painted and not wallpaper? You can read all about their process here.

Paint the Room a Deep or Bright Color
Don’t be afraid to paint a small room in a deep bold shade. If you decide to go this route, make sure you have other elements in the room to help brighten the space. For example, the photo below includes several white and bright design features to help keep this space feeling bright. This example also has a great window to help bring in natural light.
