Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Review
This hair dryer has taken the internet by storm. I have seen this blow dryer pop up all over social media, and everyone seems to be claiming it’s the best thing that has happened to their hair.
I spent way too long trying to figure out if I should test out this hair dryer. There were both glowing and cautionary reviews. But after some thought, I decided to give it a try. Plus, my blow dryer is around 20 years old, so it was time for a new one. Here’s my honest review of the Revlon One-Step Volumizer and Hairdryer.
My Curly Hair Journey
I have naturally wavy/curly hair and have always been one to try to take care of my hair. But a little over a year ago, I decided to put away my straightener and test out the curly girl method. My initial goal was to follow this method for a month, but I kept up with the challenge for over 9 months!
Switching up my routine has done numbers for my hair. It’s stronger and was longer than ever (I recently cut off 6 inches from my hair). After I decided to stop exclusively follow the curly girl method (read more on that here), I needed to find a new routine that would work for my hair. My goal was not to go back to straightening it but to find a happy medium. I wanted to find a routine that didn’t completely fry my hair but gave me some flexibility to wear it different ways (and to go longer in between hair washes).
How To Get Straight Hair without Using a Straightener
I’ve owned a round brush for years, but I cannot remember the last time I’ve used it. As silly as it sounds, it would take way too long to try to section out my hair, use the brush to round it out and blow dry it at the same time. Unlike the round brush + hairdryer combo, this tool is easy to use. It takes some practice to get used to the tool but it’s honestly as simple as brushing your hair.
- Get out of the shower and use my Aquis – Original Hair Towel (you can use any microfiber one) to help wick away the excel water from my hair. This helps reduce the dry time, and I use the time to apply my makeup.
- Next, I section off my hair and begin to dry each section. Once that layer is dry, I move onto the next until my hair is completely dry.
- The entire process takes less than 15 minutes!
Benefits of a Round Brush Hair Dryer
I have long, thick hair and it takes forever to blow dry, or air dry. If I brush it and air dries it without any product, it’s big and wavy. Not only have I kept the flat iron out of my styling routine, but I’ve reduced my total dry time since I’m using the round brush to style my hair as I go.
- The round brush tool dries my hair really fast
- I get the look of a blow out at the Salon at home
- I can set the dryer to cool to help reduce the amount of damage is done to my hair
- Gives me extra volume without adding tons of products
- I can get the look of straightening my hair, without having to use a straightener
Is Revlon’s One-Step Hair Dryer Affordable?
If you’re looking for the most affordable hair dryer on the market, this isn’t it. BUT, when you compare this round brush to others on the market, this tool is the cheapest out there! For instance, Dyson can set you back $550 and the Revlon One-Step hair dryer is under $60.
This tool has been a game changer for me and is one of the best hair tools I’ve used in years. I love that I can still wear my hair straight, without having to feel guilty about how much damage I’ve done to my hair. If you’re on the fence about it, I’d recommend setting an alert through Honey or watch it on Amazon so when it goes on sale. (If you’re patient, you can usually find a 20% off deal.)

This is very funny. I started following your blog as I have very similar hair and wanted to start the Curly Girl method. But…I do like the way I currently wear my hair but want to be more gentle. So I was unsure what to do. Then I saw your blow Dryer! It’s the same one I have! And I love it and how my hair feels. But was worried once I go Curly I wouldn’t be able to use that blow dryer. So happy I saw this!
